It is almost St. Patrick’s Day, and you know what that means, everything GREEN! We love getting into the holiday spirit and making festive treats throughout the year. Today we are sharing four of our favorite pet-friendly St. Patrick’s Day Treats!
Shamrock Dog Treats*Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp olive oil organic
- 1/3 cup Coconut Flour organic
- 2 Eggs organic
- 1/2 cup Rolled Oats gluten-free, organic
- 1/2 cup fresh spinach finely chopped, organic
- Zen Frenz Zen Drops
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Combine all ingredients and mix thoroughly
- If your dough is dry add some additional olive oil or egg
- Lay parchment paper on top of a baking sheet
- Take about 1/4 of a cup of dough and flatten on your parchment paper on top of a baking sheet
- Lay shamrock outline on top of the dough and take a knife or spoon and trace out your shamrock. Repeat until you've used all the dough
- Bake for 30 minutes or until ends are slightly browned
- Optional: add coconut oil as frosting and sprinkle with parsley
Ingredients:
- 3 C. of white whole wheat flour (use white to let the green color come through)
- 3 tbsp. of olive oil
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp. of soy milk
- 1/4 C. water from boiled spinach
- 1 C. of spinach puree (1 bag of spinach)
- Zen Frenz Zen Drops
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Bring a pot of water to boil. Add 1 bag of spinach and boil for about 5 minutes.
- Scoop out 1/4 cup of boiled spinach water and set aside.
- Drain spinach. Put into food processor and puree.
- Mix flour, olive oil, egg, soy milk, water from boiled spinach, and spinach puree together. The dough should have the consistency of play-doh.
- Roll the dough into a 1/4-inch-thick roll. Use bone or floral cookie cutters.
- Bake for 20-22 minutes.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 2 tablespoons frozen spinach, chopped
- Zen Frenz Zen Drops
Directions:
- Pour the chicken stock into a pint-size mason jar.
- Chop up the spinach and add to the jar. The finer you chop it, the more green color.
- Let sit in the refrigerator for roughly twenty-four hours, shaking it now and then.
- Strain the spinach and pour it into a drinking bottle
- This can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week and frozen for up to three months.
Ingredients:
- 16 ounces frozen green beans cut, thawed, and drained
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Zen Frenz Zen Drops
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 170 degrees.
- Add green beans and oil to a mixing bowl and toss to coat beans. Evenly spread green beans on a large, parchment-lined, or non-stick, baking sheet. Dry beans in the oven for 8 hours or until all beans are crunchy. Turn off the oven and allow it to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
- Optional Dehydrator Instructions: Dry at 170 degrees for 8 hours or until crunchy.
