Welcome back frenz, in case you missed it, it's December! Now with December comes winter and with winter comes colder weather. While us humans probably have multiple jackets, scarves, boots, hats, and hand warmers to keep us warm and toasty during the winter, we can not forget about our pets! Just like humans, pets can become very cold, uncomfortable, and even have health issues if their internal body temperature drops below a certain temperature. Not only can your pets get cold from the weather, but the dry climate can also cause cracking on their paws and nose. Here at Zen Frenz we want to make sure that both pets and pet owners are able to live their best lives possible! To help achieve this we have compiled a list of ways to help your pets during the cold, winter months.
1. Dog Jackets
The quickest and easiest way to keep your pet warm is to get them a warm jacket. Jackets vary in thickness, so you can get the best jacket for the climate you live in. Jackets also come in a plethora of sizes so your pets can be the most comfortable. Make sure that the jackets are not too tight around your pet and if they are extremely unhappy with having the jacket on, consider getting a different size or trying another fabric. Affordable jackets can be found on Amazon.com or in your local pet store.
2. Healing Balm
With winter months comes a cold, dry climate which can leave the noses and paws of pets feeling dry and itchy. To help combat these problems, consider investing in Zen Frenz Healing Balm! The balm is an all-natural healing solution for dogs and cats. It’s primary benefits are soothing dry and itchy skin, hot spots and inflammation, as well as cuts and wounds. The other benefit of the Zen Frenz Healing Balm is that it’s made with CBD which has been shown to have lots of calming benefits for pets.
3. Warm Bath/Shower
While you can try your best to prepare your pet for the elements, it is hard to completely avoid taking them outside for going to the bathroom or on walks. That being said, if your pet is extra chilly after a walk try giving them a warm bath or shower to warm them up. If you want to make showering extra calm for you and your pet, we suggest you try Zen Frenz Shampoo! The shampoo is made here in the United States and features organic ingredients including oatmeal, lavender, chamomile, and CBD. All of those ingredients work together to produce the greatest calming effect for your dogs (and cats).
4. Warm Dog Bed
Do not forget to make sure that your dog is warm during the night! While some dogs curl up with their owners in bed, plenty of dogs sleep in their own beds or crates which can get very cold at night. Make sure their bed is insulated, the heat is one, and that they are far from windows (the cold will pass through the glass).
